오프라 윈프리는 말도 잘하지만 글도 무척 잘 쓴 글이다. 한장 한장이 명언집인 What I know for sure for 로 들어가 보자.

Life is full of delightful treasure, if we take a moments to appreciate them.

잠시 시간을 내서 감상한다면 인생은 즐거운 보물로 가득 차 있습니다.


1998년에 있었던 인터뷰에서의 물음 "확실히 아는것들"을 찾기 위해 고군분투하는 오프라 윈프리의 삶의 태도에 존경을 표한다. 그리고 내게 기쁨을 주는 것들도 점수를 메겨 봐야겠다. 생일날 좋아하는 아티스트가 노래 불러주는 것은 내가 확실히 원하는 것이기도 하다.



At 1998 interview, Gene Siskel asked " What do you know for sure?" I stammered. " I need timre to think abpoy that some more."
Sixteen years and a great deal of thought later, it has become the central qustion of my life. I explored that question but It was still plenty of times when an answer doesn't come easy. When I wanted to give up, I absolutely do know beyond a shadow of doubt.

What do you do if what you knew for sure back in the day turns into what were you thinking, here in the present? I read forteen years' colums"What I Know for Sure."
I'm happy to report that when you know something.
My hope is that you'll begin to ask yourself the very same question Gene asked me all those years ago.

what I know for sure is that every day bring a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your shes, and step out and dance. When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.

I am consciously attuned most of time to how much pleasure I am receiving.
How many times have I laughed so hard on the phone with my best friend? I call that five star pleasure.
What I know for sure is that pleasure is energy reciprocated.

When my birthday, my friends and I got a party. And Snatum Kaur, every night we listen to her music, appeared. As life and God would have it, she and her musicians were in a preparing for a concert. And were "honord" to come and sing.

나는 느낌과 보는 것에 둔감하게 삶을 살고 싶지 않다는 것을 확실히 알고 있습니다.

요즘 가장 생각을 많이 하는 부분이다. 예전에는 감성적으로 예민하고 치열하였는데 나이가 들어갈수록 인생의 날이 많이 무뎌진다는 느낌이다. 경륜의 편안함이 한순간 아둔함이 되지 않게 오프라의 글은 나를 다시 생각하게 한다.


당신의 인생이 내일 끝난다면?
지금을 살아야한다.
맛있는 음식을 먹고 비판 하지 않고 잘들어주는 자신의 인생을 사랑하는 인생의 친구를 갖고 살아가는것 ,독서는 당신을 열어주고 탈출구가 되게 한다
영성을 가지고 지금을 살아야 한다.

the gift of deciding to face your mortality without turning away or flinching is the gift of recognizing that because you will die, you must live now.

Is there anything I love more than a good meal?
what I know for sure that a meal that brings you real joy will do you more good. I have a lot of strong beliefs.
One of those dreams is for everyone to be able to eat fresh food that goes from farm to table because better food is the foundation for a better life.

Her friend Gayle king listened to the latest woeful tale and she never judged me. In all my triumphs she has been my boldest cheerleader. She still worries that I'm spending too much. She loves her life, loves her family. What I know for sure is that Gayle is a friend I can count on.
